Last leg of the journey; Western Florida

Well, we made it. I can't see why anyone would want to live in this godforsaken climate, but the crew's happy. Outside it's 80º+ and humid with these giant bird-sized bugs which the entomologist of the crew thinks might be either cicada's or maybe some kind of blood-sucking bird. Did I mention the humidity? The air's so thick you can almost drink it, and couple that with 80° tempurtures, and you have hell.

To my mind at least. I would much prefer somewhere like Maine, or Boston, somewhere where you don't have put on your scuba gear on every time you have to go outside because of the humidity.

But the crew is happy, and a happy crew doesn't mutiny.

Here's another one from Nice, a nice place in France.  I like the bright colors and the neat cars Zooming past.   If you look carefully you will notice that every man in the picture has a Hat.  Those were the days.

Looking around the airport I see lots of Fedora's, and lots of suits.

But no suits wearing Fedora's.

That's sad.

We finally met up with the Peregrination last night, and boy can I tell you it's no fun docking a small Blimp to a large Zeppelin at two in the morning. But we made it. And I slept fitfully for ages, and here we are! We are now in Houston, waiting patiently for security to decide that maybe we aren't terrorists.

-=First leg of the trip; A third of the way there=-

The E.E.B. Sure gets small after 24 Hours aboard, I'll be glad when we meet up with the Peregrination and begin our trip in earnest. We stocked up on food yesterday when we stopped for lunch, but in a Blimp no larger than a DC-3, between the spare helium and the crew there isn't much room to store food. Luckily there is enough room for a bathroom, otherwise this trip might have taken twice as long.

The E.E.B. {Emergency Escape Blimp} is fueled and on it's way, with me and the crew inside. But mere hours after taking off, we had to force a landing due to a hungry crew, luckily we were over the downtown area of the small American city of "Anchorage, Alaska", right about, here:




The highlighted restaurant is where we stopped for lunch, "Momma O's" a fine establishment if I've ever seen one. their siganture dish is deep-fried halibut in a hamburger bun, with the thickest Chips {French fries to you Americans} I've ever seen. Several of the crew compained of heart pain, but we all agreed it was most definitely worth it.
For those brave travellers who don't mind a little vein coagulation, here are some pictures:

Order your fish and chips here. {they also offer grilled or…I think it was boiled… halibut or chicken, but really, you're coming here for the deep-fried}
After you order take a seat and wait for the friendly staff to come and serve you your delicious heart attack on a plate. I would like to say that I highly enjoyed my meal, none of the crew actually got heart-attacks, and I don't get any money from these people, in fact I had to pay money for my food. But it was well worth it, and I recommend this establishment to anybody who's wandering through alaska.
